Nick Gillespie, Reason TV. Interview about LEAP Zones
The government of Honduras has reformed its constitution to create “Zones for Employment and Economic Development” (ZEDE is the acronym in Spanish) which are special legal, economic, administrative, political jurisdictions.
These are not government construction projects to build new cities. Nor are they simply special economic zones, but rather a comprehensive institutional model to support rule of law, transparency, competitiveness, security and freedom. Unlike the model called “Charter Cities,” there is no rule, sponsorship or administration by a foreign government.
